Become a Volunteer, Apprentice or Intern at Wisdom Projects!

Find Meaning and Belonging

Are you looking for a meaningful experience in a loving community where you can cultivate a sense of belonging?

Are you interested in learning about peace education, trauma-informed healing, and community health?

Are you looking for an experience that expands your understanding of peace, justice, conflict mediation, de-escalation, Social and Emotional Learning, and youth empowerment?

Are you looking for school credits, college credits, or community service hours?

If you are searching for any of these things, then consider joining Wisdom Projects as a Volunteer, Apprentice, or Intern!

Background Checks

Over the course of its history, Wisdom Projects has welcomed volunteers from a variety of groups, including AmeriCorps, local universities, and medical centers.

We welcome volunteers, apprentices, or interns who are looking to enhance their understanding of community organizing, community healing, and community education for peace, justice, and wellness.

If an adult, an initial criminal background check is required and you must provide information so that we can perform the background check with ease.

If a youth under the age of 18, we require the permission of the parent or legal guardian.

All volunteers, apprentices, and interns sign an agreement to follow our values, policies, practices, and procedures.

Required Training

We require volunteers, apprentices, or interns to undergo at least three to five in-person or virtual training sessions with us within our STEM & Healing Arts Peacemaking Program and/or via Zoom.

Supporting Wisdom Projects

All of Wisdom Projects' programs and services for the community are free/no-cost and we struggle to fundraise to support our mission.

We ask that all volunteers, apprentices, and interns become a Patreon supporter of Wisdom Projects (for as little as $5 per month--just the cost of a cup of coffee per month) for at least one year to help fund our training and activities.

Confidentiality and Liability

Insofar as we work to prevent violence in sensitive situations, we ask that volunteers, apprentices, and interns sign an agreement to hold us harmless for risks and liabilities, and to maintain strict confidentiality, nondisclosure, and non-disparagement under HIPAA, FERPA, and MPIPA regulations.
